This is the first in a series where we go through the famous book translated by Richard Wilhelm and commented upon by C.G Jung.  

In this second segment, we discuss chapter two: the Primal Spirit (anima) and the Conscious Spirit (animus) 

In this third segment, we discuss the circulation of the light and the protection of the center. This chapter especially emphasizes the necessity of focusing the two eyes on the tip of the nose in order to fix the light on the center of the 'midst of conditions.'

In this fourth segment, we discuss the circulation of the light and making the breathing rhythmical. Focusing the eyes on the tip of the nose and breathing as quietly as possible, the heart is released from all tension and becomes light. Through this technique, the heart cultivates light (as in inner illumination) while simultaneously purging distractions and lethargy. This wonderful chapter could be summed up by saying, "This is how you get better at listening to your heart."

The fifth segment of the text is about mistakes made in practice: excessive rigidity in following procedures, falling victim to the five "dark demons," and the "ten thousand ensnarements."

The sixth segment of the text is about confirmatory experiences during the circulation of the light

The seventh segment of the text reminds us that the rewards of inner-discipline create resilience to external circumstances.

The eighth segment of the text addresses more advanced topics that unfold once the circulation of the light is stabilized. Inculcation of deep inward listening develops into  transmission and outward dissemination of that inner truth.
